BIN SULTAN MOSQUE

It is one of the oldest mosques in the region and was built by the late Sultan bin Saeed Al-Badwawi in 1815. The mosque is located in Mansoura district on the west side of Masfout region. The mosque was constructed using plaster, mud and palm fronds, and was used by the residents of the area for praying.

MASFOUT CASTLE

The castle is located on a mountain top to the northern side of Masfout and was built at the behest of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the former ruler of Ajman in 1965. The castle was used to protect the area from the bandits heading to the Sultanate of Oman (Al Batinah) and remains steadfast and lofty until today.

The entrance was built at the behest of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the former ruler of Ajman in 1961. It was the main entrance for Masfout residents and visitors and it used to be the main crossing for merchants coming to the region.

Masfout is 120km southeast of Ajman city. It provides an easy introduction to hiking in the foothills of the Hajar Mountains . The craggy mountain range stretches from northeastern Oman through the eastern United Arab Emirates and down into southern Oman.

Masfout is a landlocked enclave of Ajman, 120km southeast of the city, and is a great base for an off-road mountain bike adventure. It’s surrounded by the majestic Hajar Mountains, which stretch for 500 kilometres from Oman’s northern Musandam peninsula, through the eastern United Arab Emirates and back down into southern Oman.

One of the tourism projects developed by the municipality of Masfout in January 2020. The project is located on the northern side of Masfout and includes a hiking promenade, prayer room, restrooms and umbrellas.

HADAF DAM

It is considered one of the largest dams in the region and was built in 1992 by the late Sultan Al Owais. Located along the White Mountain to the west side of Masfout, the dam is connected with major valleys such as Wadi Hadaf and Wadi Bufrai. The dam’s lake spans over 3 million square meters.
