HASSA BUWEID CASTLE

Manama City is proud to have another story-telling heritage site; Hassa Buweid Fort, which was built in 1976 on a hill consists of white grit and that is why it’s been called since then Hassa Buweid which means white grit in Arabic. The fort is a square shaped tower comprising two chambers.

MUSEUM AL MANAMA

Al Manama Museum (Previously Known as Al Mareer Fort)

Located in Al Manama region, the Museum was built pursuant to orders from the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. The fort consists of a courtyard surrounded by seven large rooms, in addition to a well (Tawi) dedicated to provide drinking water to the guards of the tower. The fort is also surrounded by palm trees which is being irrigated from the old spring ‘Falaj Al Manama’, which stems from the tops of the mountains.

RED FORT

Al Manama city is an important city in Ajman located 75km away from the center of the emirate. The city is proud of its archaeological sites that bring to life tales and stories full of pride about the founders of those heritage sites. Among the sites, the Red Fort which was built during the rule of Sheikh Humaid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi and according to his orders. The fort consists of four chambers and two towers; each tower consists of two chambers. For its significance as a heritage site, H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, gave orders in 1986 to restore the fort and add a third tower to the front-left side of the fort similar to the old towers. Grit and red plaster have been used to build the walls of the fort, for which the fort is being called the Red Fort, while the ceilings were built by using Rhizophora wood as beams and pillars.

Currently under construction, Classic Cars Museum is located on the main road to the emirates of Ras Al Khaimah.
